But I highly doubt it is going to work out.

I messaged a guy selling his swapped Opel Corsa A. It is a popular swap among opel enthusiasts, wich basically means:

Kinja'd!!!

This car, an Opel Corsa A (1986)

with the engine from this, the Opel Calibra:

Kinja'd!!!

equals a go kart with 150 hp.

I asked if he would be interested in a trade..

It is a long shot and It probably wont work out, but if it does...

You’re willing to trade your nice Celica for a Corsa A with an engine swap? Be sure you have that Corsa thoroughly checked out be an independent mechanic before you make any irreversible decision. Also, make sure the engine upgrade is registered with the RDW. Just run the plate on their website.

Is it this one ?

I haven’t looked for long, but the 2.0 swap seems more common than expected. Most look rather nasty. This white one looks better imho, and looks like a sleeper as well.

Its still alive and kicking! I was just there a few days ago. The backlot tour is what they closed. Its right next door to it.

I just like it so much because it is such an insane deathtrap go-cart, it weighs only 780 kilo, and has 150-160 hp, wich can even be expanded...

I reckon it would be heaps more fun to drive, and probably gets better fuel economy too...

It wasn’t that one, although it looks very nicely done.

There is not a lot of power I can get out of my car, without doing an engine swap or anything else that requires much money.

My car has some rust, not on vital spots but still, that I need to adress soon so it is either sell now, or work on it in the winter. I think i’ll do the latter and learn some rust repairs this winter. I do love how unique/rare my particular model is, but that is a double-edged sword.. There is no info or following of this model, so parts and information are hard to come by. Most forums are dead too... Dutch car culture is small and mostly dead so that doesn’t help...
